Luxfer Wins Large CNG Contract

LUXFER GAS CYLINDERS HAVE BEEN AWARDED A LARGE CNG CYLINDER CONTRACT

Luxfer has been chosen by Agility Fuel Systems to supply high-pressure gas cylinders for new CNG buses for Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART).

This multi-year contract is one of the largest municipal alternative fuel programs in the United States to date. Luxfer will supply 2,200 roof-mounted, carbon composite CNG cylinders for 370 low-floor buses in the Dallas, Texas, area from 2013 through 2014.

The order is the largest bus contract awarded in the past decade in the United States. The first new CNG-powered buses are scheduled to roll onto Dallas streets in 2013.

The DART board of directors selected CNG as the best fuel for its new advanced-technology fleet, continuing the DART commitment to environmental stewardship and reducing ozone-causing emissions in North Texas. "This is the right thing to do businesswise, environmentally and for the communities we serve," said Victor Burke, Executive Vice President, Operations for DART.
